Heavenly Homes

On Saturday 15th November six homes decked their rooms with Christmas decorations. All the money raised went to the refurbeshment of our new school library. It cost us no money to decorate the homes. We raised around $10,000. The Pasifica drumming group performed at Louise and Veni Uhila's house. What a great event.

PJ Disco

On Halloween our school had a disco that was PJ themed. 25% of the children wore onesies and the other 75% wore normal PJs. We got 3 glowsticks each and some chips. It went for 1 1/2 hours. It was very fun but tiring. (Probably from all the dancing.) Next time we hope the theme is the letter 'P'.

CALENDAR ART

In term 3 we made our calendar art. We splatted colourful paint with paint splatters then we drew silhouettes with black pen and pasted them on. I thought these artists have a good contrast of black and white which made them look really affective. Our calendar art looks really great. Don't you think?

Cross country

Last term our school had cross country. The 5-7 year olds ran half a lap of Vogeltown park and the 8 year olds ran 1 lap of the park. The 9-11 year olds ran 1&1/2 laps. After our cross country the teachers
selected people that worked hard to go to New Plymouth cross country. Phoebe and Jemima even made it to Taranaki cross country. Jemima got 24th and Phoebe came 48th.

Fancy Dress

Last term our school had a Fancy Dress. Each class did 2 dances. Also all the juniors did a dance and all the seniors did a dance together. Our class did Thriller (with room 1), Simi Yadech and Jai ho. Afterwards there was a supper. I felt nervous because we had to perform in front  of lots of people but afterwards I felt really pleased with our performance.

MASCOTS!!!!

In Room 4 we had to design a mascot for the Commonwealth Games. We had to look up on the computer our countries symbols and draw our mascot. We also had to write a story on how a mascot  became a mascot. The hard part was making up a story. This is Phoebe Hunters mascot her name is Rosy. She is a red rose from England.

ALIM helps people that are giving their best to improve in maths.  ALIM started the first week of term 3 and is on every Monday to thursday afternoons.
